The 2009 World Champion KC Tribe was founded in summer 2007 by Colin Stoner, John Van Sittert and player Mindy White. The goal of the ownership group is to provide an affordable, positive and fun opportunity for women of all walks of life to play the sport of tackle football.

The members of the Tribe range in age from 18 to 45 and include women from all types of backgrounds and professions who share a common goal - to play a sport traditionally reserved only for men. These women generally have a vast array of prior athletic experience, ranging from recreational leagues to collegiate athletics, to professional sporting endeavors.

The Tribe is a proud member of the Women's Football Alliance, and plays in the Midwest Division of Region V in the American Conference against the St. Louis Slam and the KC Spartans.  The Tribe will also play the Nebraska Stampede, Minnesota Machine, Tulsa Eagles, and longtime foe - Chicago Force - will return to Kansas City to kick-off the 2012 season.

In 2011, the Tribe finished 8-2, and captured the Midwest Division Crown and advanced to the quarterfinals, where they suffered an overtime loss to the perennial powerhouse, Dallas Diamonds.

In 2010, The Tribe competed in the Midwest Division of the IWFL against teams such as the Chicago Force, Dallas Diamonds, Minnesota Vixen and Wisconsin Warriors.  The Tribe finished the season with a record of 6-2, and missed the play-offs by a mere .028 percentage points.

In 2009, the Tribe's second season, the team won the IWFL World Championship, defeating the DC Divas 21-18.  En route to the title game, the Tribe defeated the Los Angeles Amazons in the Divisional Championship and the Chicago Force to win the Conference Championship.  The Tribe finished with a record of 10-1.

In 2008, the Tribe's inaugural season, the team finished 4-4.
